Transactions

Here’s a list of transactions that were agreed upon during the 1st Round (or affected the 1st round)

- Chris Pronger and Ryan Dingle traded from the Ducks to the Philadelphia Flyers for Joffrey Lupul, Luca Sbisa, two 1st round picks (#21 overall in the 2009 draft and 2010), and a conditional 3rd rounder in 2010.

- The Columbus Blue Jackets traded their 1st round pick (16th overall) and 3rd round pick (77th overall) to the New York Islanders for picks #26 (1st round), #37 (2nd round), #62 (3rd round), and #94 (4th round).

- Minnesota Wild traded the #12 pick to the New York Islanders for their 1st round pick (16th overall), 3rd round pick (77th overall) and 7th round pick (182nd overall).

-Calgary Flames traded the #20 pick to the New Jersey Devils for the #23 overall pick and their 3rd round pick (84th overall pick).

-The Columbus Blue Jackets acquired the 21st overall pick from the Anaheim Ducks for the #26 pick (1st round) and the #37 overall pick (2nd round).

-The Tampa Bay Lightning give up their #32 overall pick (2nd round) and #75 overall pick (3rd round) for Detroit’s #29 overall pick.

Here’s a breakdown of the 26th pick:
- Originally the San Jose Sharks pick.
- Sharks traded their 2009 1st round pick to the Lightning in the Dan Boyle trade last summer.
- Lightning traded the pick to the Senators in the Andrej Meszaros trade.
- Senators traded the pick to the Islanders in the Mike Comrie trade.

The Calgary Flames will use their 1st round pick in 2009—meaning their 1st round pick in 2010 will go to the Phoenix Coyotes. Included within the Olli Jokinen trade at the deadline, the Flames sent a conditional 1st Round pick to the Yotes (either 2009 or 2010, Calgary’s choice).

You got an extra 3rd round pick for dropping back 3 picks… the Wings do better late anyways. I think Franssen was a 3rd rounder. Yeah.

Oh, I’m not complaining! I’m fine with it really.

  • Mimi

And I guess I will wait until tomorrow for our pick.

  • Mimi

I’m interested to see who the Wings pick…but I don’t know why. We always do so much better in later rounds.
