The AHL announced their alignment for the 2009-10 season last week. I know that I like to check out how things are going down in the “A” from time to time, so here’s a quick cheat sheet with links to all the AHL teams—as well as their NHL affiliate. No sarcasm or opinions here: just a resource. So if this is something that you think you’ll find useful—bookmark it (or do whatever it is you do to keep track of websites). If you think its helpful now, just wait until hockey season!

Also, there will be few changes to the AHL lineup next season. The Philadelphia Phantoms are no more; instead, they are now the Adirondack Phantoms. Likewise, the Calgary Flames affiliate will have a new look. The Quad City Flames will be replaced by the Abbotsford Heat. Lastly, the Iowa Chops (the Ducks affiliate), are suspended for the entire 2009-10 season for violating league bylaws. Apparently, teams aren’t allowed to put THEMSELVES up as collateral when they’re getting a loan. Who knew?
