I've always liked Smyth (or maybe just pitied him from toiling all those years in Edmonton), and he seems to be exactly what the young Kings need. They made two very solid moves this summer in picking him up along with Scuderi. A lot still rests on their goaltending, but the team should be noticeably stronger up front with their additions and an extra year of maturing and playing together. I predict playoffs. Not cool.... Thats really my only fear with Smyth though. Im fine with the contract, fine with giving up Quincey for him... but I'm afraid that his body is going to start breaking down because of the style he plays.
