@chris The Kings will make the playoffs but they’ll be on the bubble (7th or 8th seed). They still need to work their collective asses off to get there.

@amy jo The Kings didn’t add much? Ryan Smyth? Rob Scuderi? Those are major additions for 27 out of 30 teams in the NHL.

Aren’t all predictions really the average of what we dare to hope for and what we will tolerate? I personally won’t be able to stomach anything less than, say, missing the playoffs on the last day of the season after losing a shootout that goes 75 rounds, the “winning” goal of which is revealed by video from a fan’s iphone sitting behind the net to be clearly “no goal.” And I secretly dare to hope for 5th place. So, my prediction ends up at 7th or 8th (there is no 7.5th place, or that would be it).

Yeah, yeah yeah. If you don’t have hope and belief that your team will make the playoffs, are you really a fan? Besides, try having your team almost stolen and then not rallying behind them

Kings didn’t add that much. Stars didn’t add that much, and the Ducks will be tough but we always play them hard. Stranger things have happened.

So WHEN (not if) the Kings make the playoffs, will he be a journalist or a fan? Thankfully, anyone that hangs around here knows how I feel about certain teams…
