Who’s playing in the NHL tonight? Where can I find it on TV? When should I turn on the aforementioned TV? Most importantly, should I even bother turning on the TV? Florida Panthers vs Chicago Blackhawks(Helsinki, Finland)

How pissed are the people in Finland? They know Sweden is getting the Wings and the Blues—so they get the Blackhawks and… the Panthers? What? Were the Lightning too tired after their preseason Million Mile Tour? How do you say “20 Cents” in Finnish?
St Louis Blues vs Detroit Red Wings(Stockholm, Sweden)
Time: 12:00 PM PST
TV: TSN, VS
Let me get this straight: Nicklas Lidstrom, Tomas Holmstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, Niklas Kronwall, Johan Franzen, Jonathan Ericsson and Daniel Larsson are all playing a “home game” in Sweden? Alright, I’ll buy that. It is nice that they’re playing this game between Division rivals in Europe—I’m sure neither people in St. Louis or Detroit would want to go to these games.
Philadelphia Flyers at Carolina Hurricanes
Time: 4:00 PM PST
TV: TCN-PH, FS-CR
One of the teams is trying to improve on their Eastern Conference Finals appearance last year. No, that’s not the Flyers. They’re the team that’s going to go after the all-elusive “Most PIMs EVER” title. To each their own—at least they both have goals.
New York Rangers at Pittsburgh Penguins
Time: 4:30 PM PST
TV: RDS, NHLN-CA, MSG, FS-P
Nothing like a Divisional match-up to start the season. The most impressive part of this game is that it will NOT be televised on Versus. Between the fact that it’s the Crosby, the Penguins and that whole “Stanley Cup Banner” thing, I would have lost a ton of money if I were a betting man. Oh, and the Rangers will be there too.
