If you’re an Oilers or a Lightning fan, this video might sting a little bit. In New Jersey, Travis Zajac scored with a second left to tie up the score at 3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Zajac’s goal forced OT—the Devils eventually prevailed in a shootout.
Mere hours later, the Calgary Flames did the exact same thing against the rival Oilers in Edmonton. At 19:58 of the 3rd period, Rene Bourque forced the game to OT (and eventually a shootout where they’d win). It was not a good night to be an Oilers fan.
But on the positive side—at least the Lightning and the Oilers got a point, right? Silver lining anyone?
