Daily Cross Checks

Thursday November 5

Daily-Cross-Checks
Who’s playing in the NHL tonight? Where can I find it on TV? When should I turn on the aforementioned TV? Most importantly, should I even bother turning on the TV? Here’s a place to find all the games of the night and talk about them to your hearts content. Don’t worry, tomorrow we’ll start all over. Hockey fans, these are your Daily Cross-Checks.

Montreal at Boston
Time: 4 PM PST
TV: RDS,TSN (HD),NESN (HD)
Nope, they still don’t like each other; but its games like these that I wish Mike Komisarek was still on the Habs. Most importantly, this game will have some repercussions later in the season for some fans. Donate damn it.

Columbus at Atlanta
Time: 4 PM PST
TV: FS-O (HD),SPSO (HD)
Over/Under for the number of people in Canada that will watch this game: 1.5

Tampa Bay at Ottawa
Time: 4:30 PM PST
TV: TSN2 (HD),SUN
How much joy would Sens fans take in beating the team that just ruined Phil Kessel’s debut in Toronto? “What? You still couldn’t beat a team like the Lightning without you’re new superstar? We could.” Yeah, like THAT rivalry needs any more fuel.

San Jose at Detroit
Time: 4:30 PM PST
TV: CSN-CA (HD),FS-D (HD)
How long is the “cooling-off” period between the time that you leave your old club and the moment that you don’t care about returning to your old club? Ask Todd McLellan.

Vancouver at Minnesota
Time: 5 PM PST
TV: CITY TV,FS-N
With the style of play that the Canucks have been trying to institute since their injury problem and the problems that the Wild have had on offense, this should be a THRILLING game.

Calgary at St Louis
Time: 5:30 PM PST
TV: FS-MW (HD)
Two teams that were expected to be among the strongest teams in the West. This game features ONE team that is currently among the strongest teams in the West.

Chicago at Phoenix
Time: 6 PM PST
TV: CSN-CH (HD),FS-A
I wonder if Jerry Reinsdorf will be there?

NY Rangers at Edmonton
Time: 6:30 PM PST
TV: MSG (HD),PPV
Funny thing: Dany Heatley isn’t on EITHER team.

Nashville at Anaheim
Time: 7 PM PST
TV: NHLN-US,FS-TN,PRIME (HD)
I was told by Buddy Oakes at PredsOnTheGlass that the Predators ALWAYS have problems putting the puck in the net. Interestingly enough, the Ducks have problems keeping the puck OUT of their net this season. Something’s got to give.

Pittsburgh at Los Angeles
Time: 7:30 PM PST
TV: FS-P (HD),FS-W (HD)
Alexander Frolov or Jack Johnson for Jordan Staal. Think we’ll hear about either of those during the game? All kidding aside, if you look at records: this is your game of the night.
