It reeks of previous Los Angeles Kings regimes. Phil Kessel or not, the Toronto Maple Leafs would have drafted in the top-5 this year. That's a great pick. Next year, they'll also be without a first and second rounder. If you have a solid scouting staff (and Toronto has upgraded theirs), these picks are key. I'm sorry, but Brian Burke cannot fix the Toronto Maple Leafs through free agency exclusively. He doesn't have a lot left to trade either (unless Kaberle gets fed up).
