I hope your right about the Eagles but to be honest I havent been impressed with any of their wins except maybe the Atlanta game.

I love the 16,005 remark. Damn does that bring back a lot of memories. I know they raised the number with the Staples Center, but they still dont come close to always selling it out. 10 years I had season seats at the GWF and i can count the number of times I didnt hear 16,005 on one hand.

Personally I like Vegas for New Years Day. They have done it here once in a hotter month. Imagine the intersection of LVBLVD and Troicana. Hell, that way I would acctually make it.

Hey Philly Phan, that wasn’t Wayne crying that day, that was his all the ice that was melting off his brow after playing his first scrimmage at the downtown LA outdoor ice rink – OR it was that he would realize that in some GM’s clouded brains, he is equivlent to: Jimmy Carson-Martin Gelinas-Patrice Tardif-Roman Vopat-Craig Johnson. Aside from Gelinas and 1/2 of Jimmy, I think their career point totals equal about 0.0000000000001% of the great one’s.

By the way, this is the year the Eagles finally win in February…..

I know the Rose Bowl would be a great venue for the Outdoor classic, but only during the year the Golden Bears FINALLY return to the Rose Bowl (when Pete Carrol suceeds Tedford). That would be the luck of the…. Irish? Or the irony/hard luck of the Oski?

I think the great Jimmy Fox had a better idea for the Outdoor classic: Manhattan Beach- or Santa Monica. They’ve mastered the outdoor rink in La-La Land, they can create a rink on the beach with -oh about 17,505 seats – I mean 16,005?

That’s about how many die-hard fans will forget about college football that day and watch hockey. Wouldn’t that be the best one-day venue?

I will be the first to say that I am not happy with bringing him back. I was thrilled to see him go. Might as well just fire the GM and Coach who have been preaching a new system since he left and was the reason for the trade in the first place. They have basically just admitted defeat.

But I degress. The real reason for my responce was the statement that hockey players don’t cry. Your right that he could never make it playing hockey in Philly. But if I recall correctly that on Aug 9, 1988 your alleged “Greatest Hockey Player Ever” cryed like such a little baby on TV that he could not even start the press conference, let alone finish it. I guess if I was one of the best players in the NHL and was told I was being trade to the Queens, sorry Kings, I would cry like a little bitch too!
