And if you want to download it, you can do that too. Of course, you can also bypass the site all together and go straight to iTunes.
In Episode #4, we take a quick look at the epic Gold Medal game of the World Junior Championships. In a game that was stacked with future NHLers for both Team USA and Team Canada, the game not only matched the New Years Eve classic—but exceeded it. Here’s a look at the overtime and the Gold Medal winning goal. While you watch, we have a question for you: Who was YOUR hero of the World Junior Championships? Give us your answers in the Comments Section!
Once we return to the Pacific Division, we take a look at all the young Stars in Dallas. Why aren’t more people talking about the talented forwards? In addition to the youth in Big D, we shift our attention to some of the problems for the Anaheim Ducks. We could have talked about this subject for 45 minutes!
Last week, the United States announced their 2010 Olympic Team for the Vancouver Winter Games. With their announcement, all 12 countries have finally revealed their rosters. Not surprisingly, the Sharks lead all NHL teams with 8 players that will be participating in Vancouver. Here are the complete rosters for each and every country participating.
In addition to the Pacific Division players, we look at a couple different reactions to players that did NOT make their Olympic teams. Here’s what we talked about:
“Samuelsson irate over Olympic snub” by James Mirtle on From The Rink
“I pretty much have one comment and maybe I’ll regret it,” Mikael Samulesson said. “But they can go f*** themselves. That’s what I really think.”
— Vancouver Sun
Mike Modano talks about Team USA from Mike Heika’s blog for the Dallas Morning News.
“It is disappointing. This would have been a really fun time, especially in Vancouver. But I understand the process and I understand what they were doing. I guess the hardest part is this pretty much was the last chance to play for (Team USA), but when you get to my age there are going to be things like this that are inevitable.” –Mike Modano
Also, Fear the Fin had a great look at all of the Olympic rosters in a Salary Cap world: Olympic Rosters: The Salary Cap Edition
Lastly, here’s a great look from Ryan Lambert (@twolinepass) on Puck Daddy on the astronomical prices for the Winter Classic. Would you have been alright with dropping $450 on a ticket for a regular season game?
Next week’s show will be at our usual time (8:00 PST / 11:00 EST on Tuesday, January 12th). As usual, we’ll give a snap shot of all the Pacific Division teams. In addition to the Sharks/Stars/Kings/Coyotes/Ducks banter, we’ll welcome in Justin from The Goalie Guild to help us take a look at some of the world class goaltenders that make their home on the West Coast. If you are interested in goaltenders at all, you should be all over next week’s show!
