2010 Winter Olympics: Hockey Elimination Round Schedule

I know that a lot of people are a little confused with the format for hockey at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Here we break down the schedule for the remainder of the tournament. Looks like Team USA should be pretty happy about the #1 overall seed. Conversely, it’s going to be an insanely tough road for Team Canada. But if any team has the talent to do it, the Canadians do.

Here’s how to plan the next week of your life.  Here’s a television schedule to help you prepare.

1. USA (Group A winner earns bye)
2. Sweden (Group C winner earns bye)
3. Russia (Group B winner earns bye)
4. Finland (earned qualifying round bye)
5. Czech Republic

Qualifying Round – Tuesday, February 23
(5) Czech Republic vs. (12) Latvia
(6) Canada vs. (11) Germany
(7) Slovakia vs. (10) Norway
(8) Switzerland vs. (9) Belarus

Quarterfinals – Wednesday, February 24
(1) United States vs. Swizerland
(2) Sweden vs. Slovakia
(3) Russia vs. Canada
(4) Finland vs. Czech

Semifinals – Friday, February 26
Semi #1
(1) United States vs. (4) Finland (12:00 pm)

Semi #2
(6) Canada vs. (7) Slovakia (5:30 pm)

Bronze Medal Game – Saturday, February 27
(4) Finland vs. (7) Slovakia (7:00 pm PST)

Gold Medal Game – Sunday, February 28
