PODCAST with MIC

The February 16th episode of the VFMS Podcast is up for your listening pleasure. There are a few different ways to listen. You can either stream the show directly from your computer to your ears at BlogTalkRadio. If you’re into downloading or subscribing to podcasts for your iPod, all you have to do is click the handy iTunes link once you get to the show’s page. And if you want to download it, you can do that too. Of course, you can also bypass the site all together and go straight to iTunes.

Here are a few links to help aid your listening experience. We talk about the beginning of the Olympic tournament in Vancouver as Team USA and Team Canada predictably started with victories. We also welcome in special guest (and Twitter extraordinaire) Brandon Worley from DefendingBigD, SBNation and Rink Side Radio.

If you’re watching the Olympics, here are a few resources that might help you with the Vancouver games. Here are links to the TV schedule, rosters for all 12 teams and some of the preliminary line combinations.

On the Stars front, here is a link to Brandon’s extensive article regarding the financial problems facing any potential owners in Dallas. (Defending Big D)

If you want to stalk our guest, here’s a good interview that he gave to Tyler Bleszinski. (Blog Huddle)

Next week we’re going to observe the Olympic break; but we’ll come back strong on Tuesday, March 2nd just in time for our Trade Deadline show. The show will be at our usual time (8:00 PST / 11:00 EST on Tuesday, March 2nd). We’ll be getting into a bunch of teams that could be sellers, teams that could be buyers and players that could be on the move. Sometimes, the speculation is better than the actual action!  In a special Trade Deadline Day Edition, we’ll be back on Wednesday, March 3rd (8:00 PST / 11:00 EST) to break down the frenzy.

I'm very interested to see how this Dallas ownership plays out. Perhaps that un-named buyer is Jim Balsillie? :-)

I am too.... it was interesting to hear Hicks talk about how they lose money. For the team that is supposed to be one of the model Sunbelt teams and an example of how hockey in the Southern US can thrive, this is NOT a good situation.Maybe the un-named buyer is Jerry Reinsdorf.... oh wait, he doesnt want to buy a hockey team.
