Some executives surround themselves with people that will never challenge them. Other people want to encircle themselves with the best talent available—because they want their organization to thrive. As great as it sounds to surround myself with horrible writers (to make myself look better), we chose to gather up some of the best writers around the internet. Some of them might not be the most connected and we’re not going to dazzle you with our “inside sources,” but we have the most interesting and entertaining writing around. At the end of the process, we went after the writers that WE wanted. None of these people are just filling space because we needed another writer. We asked the people we liked and hoped they’d say yes. They did, and we’re excited.
With that being said, we’re growing here at View From My Seats. Aside from me doing whatever it is I do, we’re going to bring on a few writers that will be contributing from time to time. Here are some perspectives that you can look forward to!
CJ Shepard: An insightful hockey woman in Boston.
Ryan Hackett: A hockey fan in Chicago who is just like the guy you’d talk hockey with at the bar—only with a much better vocabulary.
Amanda Fortier: A woman who has earned her PhD in Montreal.
Keith Korneluk: A season ticket holder in LA. by way of Toronto.
Carlos Figueiredo: One of the funniest guys we know in Jersey.
When we put together our group of writers, we didn’t look at anything except for their personality and their hockey knowledge. It didn’t matter if they were from the East Coast or West. It didn’t matter if they were male or female. And it didn’t matter if they chose humor or straight analysis. All that mattered was that they were intelligent people that like hockey and like to talk about it. Some lean towards humor, some lean towards the living as a hockey fan and some just like to take a deeper look at the sport we love. We just wanted some great personalities writing about hockey from THEIR perspective. It’s the View From Their Seats, if you will. Put them all together, and that sounds like a pretty damn good website.
So keep your eyes open, they’ll be popping in over the course of the next couple of weeks. Drop by! Don’t hesitate to say hi and welcome them with open arms. It should be fun!
