Take a never-ending well of hockey fans. Take 5 questions that almost everyone will have an opinion on. Put them together and get out of the way. What will you get? Well, take a look….
If you’re interested in jumping in next time, we’ll be hosting #PuckChat on Twitter every Thursday (except next week it will be on Wednesday to avoid the holiday). You can get an idea of what to expect here. And without further adieu, here’s what the masses think!

*** @TheProgramBTR First rule of #puckchat…..is to mention #puckchat ***
Question #1: Who do you think is the most underrated player currently in the #NHL?
@TheTickSP: Derek Roy
@ViewFromMySeats: Gotta go with Stephane Robidas with the #Stars… Rock solid defenseman that doesn’t get the love he should
@donholio: Manny Malhotra. He does all those little things to make a team better than the sum of their parts. SJS misses him this season.
@micahsussman: I am gonna go with Carey Price. While I love to make fun and he wasn’t playing well last year, he is a monster this year! Fantastic. Tied for 2nd in wins and shutouts but people still dont know he can play. Oh another UNDERRATED player would have to be Patrick Sharp. He always is a top scorer and never gets an credit
@rjoconnell: Cal O’Reilly of Nashville. An unlikely opening day starter who has become our top playmaker so far.
@gimmeapuck: Still gonna go with Brad Richards
@TheProgramBTR: Brad Richards…good answer….I do like Sergei Bobrovsky from the Flyers. He is one not many saw coming
@howie9416: underrated??? ryan callahan
@SpeakoftheDevs: Underrated: Chris Stewart.
@Sandwiches1123: – one of the most under-rated is Sean O’Donnell
@OhMySwed3: underrated: @logancouture
@4thLineBlog: Paul Stastny. The guy puts up solid numbers while playing against every other team’s top lines, rather than 4th liners
@Toby98: Alex Burrows
@gutsmctavish24: Alex Edler
@SnatchOrGrab: my vote goes to Dwayne Roloson as most underrated player in the NHL 2.45gaa & .916 sv% is no joke on a lousy Isles team.
@Beradlaf: loui ericksson check the numbers

Question 2: The obvious follow-up question: Who is the most overrated player in the @NHL today?
@micahsussman: I would have to go with Martin Brodeur. He is supposed to be this amazing goalie and he post stats like DiPietro. Either that, or Rick Nash…why is he still considered a superstar?
@ElieAintabi: The obvious answer: Kovalchuk
@TheProgramBTR: Most overrated player in the NHL today…most everyone will say Kovalchuk. I will say Olli Jokinen
@gimmeapuck: Joe Thornton!
@SpeakoftheDevs: Bobby LU.
@Sandwiches1123: Brodeur maybe. But otherwise anyone who plays with the Sedin’s
@ViewFromMySeats: My personal opinion, any goalie in this #Lightning vs #Flyers game right now…
@OhMySwed3: Its a tie. Ovie, Sid, Malkin.
@4thLineBlog: In a related vein- Hank Sedin. All his points come against extremely weak competition. More so than other “elites”
@AndrewBHDL: Dustin Byfuglien. Got amazingly favorable QualComp and zone starts in the playoffs. Running over Luongo for two years really boosted his stock with fans too.
@Toby98: Brian Gionta
@patriceleonard: Luongo no doubt
@khabibulin39: – LUONGO!
@SnatchOrGrab: Luongo. What has he won? Until he has 1 or 2 Cups on his resume people will remember hes never won it all.

Question 3: Who do you think the players should select as the 2 captains for this years NHL All-Star Game?
@micahsussman: Stamkos for the east (he needs to try being a leader in something other than points) and Toews for the west
@lgc_com: EStaal & Toews
@ViewFromMySeats: Personally, Im going with Iginla and Kovalchuk for captains… Just because it would be fun
@SpeakoftheDevs: Konopka and Parros.
@rjoconnell: East: C – Staal, A – Pronger, Chara / West: C – Toews, A – Keith, Weber
@PredsOnTheGlass: I’ll go with Toews and Staal – boring eh?
@NCCaniac42: C- Eric Staal C- Jonathan Towes
@marcyonhockey: Crosby in the East, Lidstrom in the West. E. Staal and Toews as the A. Captains
@Yotesgurl: ASG Captains: Bryzgalov and Tim Thomas!
@khabibulin39: The 2 Stanley Cup Finals Captains
@hawknut: BizNasty & Avery
@Hockette: Mikko Koivu and Mike Richards. I’m not bias at all =)
@JosieMist: Toews and Toews!!!!!
@oneclassylassy: Stole my answers. RT @hawknut: BizNasty & Avery.
@SnatchOrGrab: I’d say Toews & Crosby
@CP2Devil: Wholeheartedly endorse this suggestion. Might actually watch if it happens. @YotesgurlASG Captains: Bryzgalov and Tim Thomas!

Question 4: Do you think there should be any consequences for Colin Campbell? Fired? Resign? Nothing?
@TheProgramBTR: Colin Campbell should be demoted honestly. its a better twist and that way maybe learn a little humility.
@micahsussman: He should endure some consequences. I dont think firing him is going to do anything, but something should be done. The Colin Campbell issue should be handled internally and he should see some sort of repercussions but we shouldnt know abou them
@rinkrebel: I don’t think someone with a child in the league should be involved in subjective disciplinary decisions. Period.
@cnadeau: he should be suspended for three games without pay
@PredsOnTheGlass: My bet is that the Campbell issue will be swept under the same rug where everything else has gone
@dj4aces: Resignation, without a doubt. His continued employment only tarnishes the game of hockey and the NHL.
@Toby98: IMO Campbell probably should have been fired long ago ,just goes to prove the guy probably isn’t the most objective guy
@saint_georgia: forcing someone to resign is a classy way of saying “yeah, he got fired”
@SnatchOrGrab: Bettman takes care of his lacke.,i mean loyal employees,so figure hed be “reassigned” in the NHL heirachy @ worst
@hawgs38: Savvy should get to spin the wheel of justice for Coli! All’s Fair in Love and Hockey! Option 2: Coli should have to skate a shift against Cooke with his “favorite” referees presiding
@bluejacketsbabe: There should def be consequences for Campbell’s actions. You can’t suspend based on who you like and don’t like.

Question 5: Whats your take:if MSM broke the Campbell story rather than a blogger,would it be handled differently?
@micahsussman: yes, but no one would care. MSM doesnt deal with hockey…bloggers are the real bulk of hockey news anyway
@SpeakoftheDevs: Yes, because MSM are always fully dressed and live in a real apartment.
@sarah_connors: Not necessarily, I don’t think – there’d probs be the same fan/media/blogger hullabaloo with no NHL action
@ReynoldsSBN: If TSN had broken the Campbell story, he would already be gone. Guaranteed.
@Sandwiches1123: Yes, but MSM protects people by being more conservative about stories. MSM would jump on the story if MSM reported
@ReinaDeLaIsla: Who knows? I just get the feeling that the league isn’t taking this as seriously because it’s a guy who runs his own site.
