Question 2: Were you looking forward to Forsberg’s return to the league or happy to see him retire?

1blackhawkfan: Didn’t care

Adam_KOL: With the culture of today (i.e. Brett Favre) of athletes coming and going, I hope he stays retired.

Baroque97: Glad to see the end of the drama. It had become a comedic and cruel sideshow.

bluejacketsbabe: Glad to see him retire after trying. And I got to see him play!

codyhotel: I was looking forward to his return so I could laugh at his retirement 2 weeks later. It was Faster than I thought.

davidlasseter: Would have liked one home game.

Devsfan55: Little of both

DownGoesSpezza: No, didn’t want him to tarnish his legacy

eyesris: Happy as can be

FightNightatJoe: To quote the Ramones: Glad to see you go, go, go, go goodbye!

ghosthoffa: never should have come back if he could only do two games hoping he could be dynamic but I’m just sad for him

HockeyChick107: Looking forward to it. Enjoyed seeing him in Nashville. Sad for him he had to hang ‘em up.

icebaby20: More respect when decision has been thought through/stuck with

Jeremy1026: I was looking forward to his return…even picked him up in fantasy hockey.

kevinmfay: He’s been a shell of his former self. Stay retired.

MePronger: MEPRONGER: PRONGER BETTER THAN FORSBERG. WANT TO SEE PRONGERS PUCK?

micahsussman: I was looking forward to seeing a little Foppa, and that’s what happened…just 1 game is never enough :|

MonicaMcAlister: Looking forward to it. Even with the #RedWings #Avs history – everyone likes a good comeback story. Was sad to see him go out after two games. Had hoped if he came back THAT wouldn’t happen #shame

Motley_Su: I wanted to seen diamonds from Forsberg. Instead, I saw rust.

mvaldmar: RETIRE

Nonamericanhero: Barely interested

oneclassylassy: Complete apathy

pnltbx: Could not have cared either way. Never a fan, but didn’t hate him either

PredsOnTheGlass: Enjoyed the return in Nashville

reinadelaisla: In all honesty? Apathetic. Does that make me a bad hockey fan?

rinkrebel: I’d been looking forward to it. Wish he could have stayed in longer than he did.

scoobydoozi: I looked forward to Peter Forsberg’s return. But it is a shame he had to retire. At least he did so with dignity

stars_gal: I loves me some Foppa. Was excited for return.

talkendo: I wanted him back badly. I said at the time, a league WITH a healthy Forsberg is better than one without.

Toby98:I had Forsberg going 6 before injury or retirement, was 4 off .. glad he retired before he looked < the minus 4 he was

WSHUHDIT: Happy to see him retire AGAIN!

Question 3: What did you think when you heard Mario Lemieux’s comments about the #Isles?

1blackhawkfan: Hypocrite

Baroque97: Money where his mouth is. He should have kept his mouth shut (this time) and show up to future meetings.

bluejacketsbabe: I lost some respect for him.

cabeckham: That he doesn’t get ‘it’. It’s not like this is new. See 3/26/1997 or 3/6/2004. There are issues but his team getting away w/all the cheap hits are catalysts for these brawls.

chitchattj: Pot calling the kettle black. Try leading by example, dump Cooke!

davidlasseter: He’s right.but gotta clean up his own yard first.

DownGoesSpezza: He should waive Cooke before talking.

FightNightatJoe: Clean your own house before criticizing other people’s

ghosthoffa: it surprised me how touchy the hockey media is Mario just spoke the truth

happygirl1029: he who employs Matt Cooke needs to shut his mouth

icebaby20: Chagrined

Jeremy1026: I’d like to see him hold up his threat and walk away from the league. No need for whiners in the NHL.

jps94: blowhard hypocrite

KasiaCh: Whiny-baby hypocrisy.

koolkeith19: Bang on! Isles were bush league that night What did you think when you heard Mario Lemieux’s comments about the Islanders?

micahsussman: I think Lemieux shouldnt have said anything. it forced the questions about Matt Cooke and he cant answer them…

NCCaniac42: I thought it was Pot calling Kettle-ish. Needs to police his own locker room first #MattCooke

Nonamericanhero: If his team wasn’t the league leader in PIMs, I might have agreed with his statement. But that wasn’t the case

opiatedsherpa: He wasn’t gonna get out of this one alive.

PredsOnTheGlass: I think he was somewhat misundestood

reinadelaisla: HOOO,boy, wrong question to ask. -_- He has a point, but he needs to focus on his own players’ transgressions.

rockarts: I wished that the Oilers would have a game like the Isles did. Good teambuilding and showed passion.

scoobydoozi: I don’t blame Mario Lemieux for speaking out, but at the same time, he should realize he still employs Matt Cooke.

SensDew19: I think all his points were valid, that was some BS plays, the hypocrite emphasis was stupid

smplefy646: Someone noticed us!

stars_gal: Has a point. There’s fighting and then there’s being a punk ass bitch.

starsfan10_91: they were honest to me

talkendo: Wished he was more involved. He’s been a hermit.

TheSpawn826: 140 charactrs not enough for some1 who employs Cooke

TheViewfrom111: self serving and denial of the bigger problem the NHL has with inconsistent discipline by the League office

Toby98: Mario Lemieux = Hypocrite. expanded upon, Mario, don’t let the door hit you where the good lord split you

wakerider79: He needs to remember #24 that plays for him #punk

Question 4: Who do you think will make the biggest move at the trade deadline this year? Who NEEDS the biggest?

1blackhawkfan: Bos/LA

Adam_KOL: Biggest move: PIT to replace 87. NEED: WAS, in desperate need of a 2C.

Baroque97: I think Boston will, but Washington needs one more. They’ve lost spirit since last year.

BlackoutDallas: Leafs make the biggest moves, Blackhawks and Pittsburgh are the teams that need it the most

Bytor2112: Philly got Steeger, what could be bigger than that? *snickers* *shakes head in disbelief*

codyhotel: Pittsburgh makes the big move, VAN or MTL needs it if injury returns have any setbacks.

davidlasseter: The Kings. Good team but need a shot in the arm in that conference.

Devsfan55: think the leafs will make a big move. They need it

FightNightatJoe: Flyers or Bruins. Dallas needs the biggest, but won’t make it

Green52fan: #caps need it

habsgirl4life: Kings.

hkygrl12: #bruins…and #devils

JayC4Life: Wouldn’t surprise me if Pens move for a disposable utility guy with only a few months left on his contract. As for who’ll need it the most, literally ANYONE in the West will be looking for that one guy to boost them.

Jeremy1026: If the Devils keep their run going they definitely would be a buyer. Now if only they had some cap space.

jps94: guessing Kovalev to Pitt, Arnott to Was . Would love Penner to Was

kevinmfay: Pens needs something. Sather will do something dumb.

micahsussman: I think New Jersey will try something big again, but I think the Isles need something big…

NCCaniac42: Tough Q. Most will fill in w.needs

PredsOnTheGlass: Kings/Pens

reinadelaisla: Probably the Pens. Or the Thrashers, seeing as they went from tops to slipping out of contention.

SensDew19: Pittsburgh Penguins

smplefy646: Um #isles

stars_gal: Don’t see BIG 1 coming. DAL needs a new G, tho. ;)

starsfan10_91: the Pittsburgh Penguins with all their injuries. Maybe Dallas Stars too

talkendo: A: Ducks, B: Capitals

thetonyjones: Canucks

TheViewfrom111: I don’t think there will be a “blockbuster” type of trade at deadline. Teams trying to fill some holes mainly

Toby98: well as usual biggest moves will probably be #leafs ,the farm team of the rest of #NHL ,think the #kings Need to make a move

__________________________

Question 5: With the trade deadline approaching and the #Leafs making moves: Give us one word to describe Brian Burke:

ajinnashville: Pokerface

Baroque97: Bombastic

BlackoutDallas: Bi-Polar

bluejacketsbabe: Ruthless

Bytor2112: #LeafMeAlone

codyhotel: Delusional

dandbradleyETG: IMPATIENT

davedegrassi: Ballsy

Devsfan55: Ballsy

emann_222: Brina Burke = Unstable

FightNightatJoe: Not-Toronto’s-Messiah

goverjkg: Vision.

hkygrl12: hilarious

JayC4Life: Erratic.

Jeremy1026: Unconventional

koolkeith19: instigator

LetThereBeLH: Tavares-less

micahsussman: LOLFail

Mike_Fahmy: Two Words to describe Brian Burke with the #Leafs making moves #Aggressive and #Serious

SensDew19 @ViewFromMySeats noisy

stars_gal: Well-coiffed

talkendo: “Rebuilding”

Toby98: Brian Burke = Brilliant …for everyone else in #NHL
