Question #1: Look around the league, who should win the Jack Adams Award for coach of the year?

_vagues: Bylsma, keeping the Pens afloat in the east without 2 of their superstars. No question.

3DLink: @ Making the playoffs w/ no 20g score, Trotz

ajinnashville: Jack Adams – My heart says Trotz, but my mind says Dan Bylsma. What he’s done w/o Malkin & Crosby is tantamount to NSH losing both Weber & Suter — and NSH couldn’t survive that kinda loss.

Baroque97: Trotz always gets the most out of what he has.

CWGAP_Becks: NOT Joe Sacco. He should get the opposite of that award.

Devsfan55: Lemaire :)

FightNightatJoe: Barry Trotz

HamhuisGirl217: Alain Vigneault, or Dan Bylsma. Maybe even Barry Trotz.

hip_hip_jorge: Jacques Lemaire will WIN the Jack Adams Award. :)

icebaby20: Coach Tippett

irockthered: Jack Adams… No idea. No Rags-to-Ruches story this year..

jps94: as much as I hate the Pens, Bylsma has done a hell of a job keeping the team going.

KingsMelon: I vote for Jeffrey Dahmer!

NCCaniac42: Alain Vigneault

NonAmericanHero: Lemaire… he motivated a shellshocked team. No human can live through the horrors of MacLame

OMamaDontUCry: Dan Bylsma

patriceleonard: I say it every year & i will keep saying it until it happens. Barry Trotz!

peterg11742: Bylsma

PredsOnTheGlass: Would like to sat Trotz by have to say Bylsma

ReinaDeLaIsla: Can’t deny Dan Bylsma has gotten his team to overachieve a bit when everyone said they wouldn’t make the playoffs w/o 87&71.

richardsfan91: Guy Boucher of the Tampa Bay Lightning

rinkrebel: Hey Boudreau won it his first year, joined the team in late November. But I sort of have to say Lemaire. Just the before and after. It’s tremendous.

rmarcham: Gotta be Guy Boucher

Sandwiches1123: I have said this for a month: Dave Tippett.

schtimpy27: Bylsma. He visibly changed the system to work with the players left after the stars went down. Pretty impressive

scoobydoozi: Dave Tippett deserves a shot at repeating. If not, Alain Vigneault.

scottrfab: Barry Trotz – Nashville. Damn! I live in Pittsburgh and forgot about Dan Bylsma. Still think Trotz deserves kudos

SensDew19: Bylsma, he seems to get the best of his players…except Cooke of course but he’s a hopeless case

shelbygriswold: Ron Wilson. Yes, I said it.

SLStarsFan: A few months ago, I would have said Marc Crawford. Now I say Lemaire.

smplefy646: #isles Capuano

SpeakoftheDevs: Lemaire!

SpreadintheNews: Jacques Lemaire in a landslide

stars_gal: Trotz. Totally overlooked.

talkendo: Bylsma.

technicolor_cat: Dan Bylsma! amazing job with no 87 or 71.

trebek14: Trotz. Look at the injuries he’s had to overcome.

UndeRadar: Burns my soul in the worst way but Dan Bylsma should win the Jack Adams. Ouch.

winegal101: Trotz from #preds

xgabranthx: Guy Boucher.

Question 2: If your team was competing for the top spot in NHL, would you care about the Presidents Trophy (home ice)?

ajinnashville: I think you’d be silly not to. But that can’t be the big goal. Can’t read your own press clippings in that case.

Baroque97: Not enough to change my plans for who to rest and who to play.

DCCheapSeats: “No” seems like an understatement…

Devsfan55: it would be nice, but not hugely important

FightNightatJoe: It’s nice to win it, but not important. Just makes a second round loss sting even worse.

finzzup: Home Ice is a HUGE advantage in the playoffs. So, yes, it does matter; especially in the Western Conference.

HamhuisGirl217: Well, my team did win the Presidents’ Trophy, & I’m glad. Home ice for all rounds is a good thing.

Hawgs38: NOPE! B’s have been disappointing at home for the last 2 seasons. Plus the Prez trophy is the kiss of death

irockthered: Pres. Trophy – no. Got it last year, didn’t save us from a Halacking.

KingsMelon: Presidents Trophy? LA Kings better give a damn about it..

likecrazypaving: CURSED

NM_WAACHCast: Absolutely, home ice can make a difference, last line changes, etc.

opiatedsherpa :If the race was closer, I’m sure I’d be a bit more vocal about it… ;) #Canucks

patriceleonard: Nope, it’s a curse.

PredsOnTheGlass: No, I’d worry more about the Stanley Cup

ReinaDeLaIsla: While home ice advantage is always a plus, recent history tells me not to give a flying fudgesicle about the President’s Trophy.

richardsfan91: nope cause I know my team can win home or away.

rmarcham: I’d care about the President’s Trophy, but I wouldn’t go all out to get it. No guarantee of success.

Sandwiches1123: Home ice is no longer much of an advantage in the NHL. I would want a healthy team first

SensDew19: I guess it depends on how much of a difference the team plays on home and road, but still its a nice honour 2 win

SpreadintheNews: last 3 Cup Champs won on road, so its not that important. OTOH, Devils-Ducks in 03, home team won every game

stars_gal: Depends on record.

SurvivorDevil: No. Winning the Prez trophy is no guarantee of playoff success, and is kind of more painful when you DON’T win the Cup.

talkendo: Nope. The only time the President’s Trophy works is if you’re the Red Wings.

tanman9: It can be a benefit sometimes. Remember the #Stars in 1999, they won the Presidents Cup and used it their advatage to win their advantage, especially in the series against Colorado in the Conf. Final.

technicolor_cat: no.

TheProgramBTR: Let Vancouver have it.

trebek14: I would prefer a healthy team for the playoff run

UndeRadar: I’m a #NYRangers fan, 18-16-4 at Home and 23-16-1 Away, we play better on the Road (except for last night). Only The Cup matters.

Question 3: Who is your team’s most valuable player?

_vagues: Fleury #pens

3DLink: Pekka Rinne, no discussion

ajinnashville: Shea Freaking Weber. Hands down.

Baroque97: Pavel Datsyuk. #getwellsoonPavel :(

dan_offerdahl: nobody. the Wild are an embarrassment to themselves and the fans. if I had to pick one though, Clutterbuck

Devsfan55: Brodeur and Kovalchuk

dmoody46: Jody Shelley. Duh.

DownGoesSpezza: Andrej Meszaros #Flyers

FightNightatJoe: Nicklas Lidström

Green52fan: Nicklas Backstrom #caps

HabItHerWay: Obvious statement is obvious: Carey Price

habsgirl4life: Price. He IS the coach’s system.

HamhuisGirl217: I suppose so. It’s nice to see the players get recognized for their hard work throughout the season.

HockeyChick107: Hands down… Pekka Rinne #Preds

icebaby20: Toss-up between Toews & Crawford

irockthered: team MVP – another toughie. Gotta go w/Michal Neuvirth. Why Neuvirth? Cool under fire, keeps his team in games, excellent record for rookie season & in all previous playoffs.

Jeffler: Price

jordanellel: Ilya bryzgalov hands down, he’s been as good as last year with less press.

KingsMelon: Hard to pick 1. Kopi does wonders but so does Doughty Brown & Smyth& Clifford Kicks Ass!!

MonicaMcAlister: Lidstrom or Datsyuk

NCCaniac42: CAM WARD.

patriceleonard: Corey Crawford

predsgal: #Preds Pekka Rinne.

ReinaDeLaIsla: I can’t pick just one, though Mark Streit’s absence and the D’s turmoil since is a HUGE clue.

richardsfan91: it’s a tie between Adam Burish and Steve Ott of Dallas Stars.

Sandwiches1123: My team’s MVP is Jay Feaster

SensDew19: Jason Spezza #Sens

stars_gal: Marty Turco. Refuse to believe otherwise. ;)

SurvivorDevil: This season? Kovalchuk, without a doubt.

technicolor_cat: this week, i’d say Iceberg

UndeRadar: Henrik Lundqvist is the #NYRangers MVP. Without him, the Rangers would be competing with the Sens & Oilers for the top draft pick.

Question 4: Speaking of MVPs, do you look forward to the NHL Awards? Why or Why not?

99Bananas007: no because the winners are predetermined by biasies of the voter

ajinnashville: Awards. They’re nice when there’s a reasonable expectation of one of your faves winning. Otherwise, notsomuch.

Baroque97: No, but I don’t like movie or music awards shows either.

dan_offerdahl: couldn’t care less. usually the wrong people get the awards. fans and ex players should have a say in awards.

Devsfan55: not as much since no Devils

FightNightatJoe: It’s fun to make fun of it R

HabItHerWay: Yes, because I’m nerdy like that.

habsgirl4life: Yes. Hot. Men. In. Suits.

Hockey_girl75: Of course! Because I live here in LV & always attend! :)

irockthered: NHL Awards – Yes! Hockey players in tuxedos. #nuffsaid! ;-)

KingsMelon: Ewe, no. I don’t enjoy any kind of award shows I just wanna see some action!

LawGoalie29: Not really, its become just another event to brown-nose Crosby and Ovechkin.

NCCaniac42: Yes, espec. if 1 of my favs is there.

opiatedsherpa: Not really… doesn’t boost the negotiations in my new contract any…

patriceleonard: no, it’s a crap show w/crap entertainment that is overpriced 4 the everyday fan 2 attend.

ReinaDeLaIsla: eh. I think they’re fun to watch, but some of it feels extremely gimmicky.

richardsfan91: Yes I do. The best part of the NHL. You get to see the best players and see who wins awards.

scoobydoozi: I look forward to the NHL Awards because I truly want to know who wins the most coveted awards in hockey.

SensDew19: not in Vegas, last year’s awards were lame but I do watch them to see the players in award show atmosphere

stars_gal: I do! It’s fun. I like awards shows. :)

technicolor_cat: yes, good to see the players get rewarded!

UndeRadar: Very indifferent in regards to the NHL Awards. Opinions will always vary and the actual show is always too conservative. Eh.

WvadsaDicfoure: Nope. I like watching hockey, not hockey players award speeches

Question 5: Finally, let’s talk about a guy getting love lately… give us one word to describe Corey Perry:

ajinnashville: OPIE. ;)

Baroque97: Punkass-bitchtart. or either on its own.

briannecole: bamf

Bytor2112: Oh Sherrie! Oh, nevermind, that’s Steve Perry…

crazygirlemy: Pesky

Devsfan55: #softhands.:)

DownGoesSpezza: Douche

FightNightatJoe: Bitch

HamhuisGirl217: Ugh. Mega-douche.

JimNeveau: Reptilian

KingsMelon: Regurgitation.

kmk1486: ass

lgc_com: Misunderstood. #ducks

NCCaniac42: PUNK

NonAmericanHero: Jerkstore

Notketchup: Asshat

patriceleonard: #deservingoftheaccolades

pnltbx: “Rat”

ReinaDeLaIsla: Corey Perry = idiot.

richardsfan91: annoying.

Sandwiches1123: Dirty

stars_gal: Fruitbat.

ViewFromMySeats: Hidden 80s reference win – underadar: Corey Perry. Hart.

ZeroIndulgence: Douchebag.
